Job Description
Provide assembly, integration, alignment, and test in support of cutting-edge laser and electro-optical systems. Effectively manage schedule and priorities with minimal daily direction to meet mid to long-term schedule objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with a small interdisciplinary team to build and test diode-pumped solid-state lasers and associated optical, electrical and thermal management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Effectively manage schedule and priorities with minimal daily direction to meet mid to long-term schedule-objective.
Receive, Inspect, Install, align, and integrate optics, electro-optics, and mechanics (combination of COTS & customs mechanics & optics).
Thermal management systems assembly and testing.
Additional duties related to facility support (clean rooms, chillers, occasional travel to support testing at customer sites).
Education
Six years hands on experience as a mechanical or optical technician or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Laser, Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Physics, with two or more years of relevant experience. A four-year degree is not required for this position if the candidate can demonstrate sufficient hands on knowledge and capability. Military experience in technical enlisted and junior officer positions can be used for experience credit.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years professional experience working with laser, optical or mechanical systems.
Must be US citizen or Permanent Resident.
Experience in documenting technical work, and results, analysis and presentation of data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Operate with a safety first mindset.

Experience with the development or use of laser or optical systems
Optomechanical design components
Assembly and testing of optical, laser and/or optomechanical components
Compensation Range
$28.00 - $45.00/hr. depending upon Education level and experience.
Classification and Benefits
Exempt employee under the Laws of the State of California.
Exempt Employees are provided full Medical and Dental Coverage as well as participation in a company sponsored 401 K Retirement plan. TP Engineering provides additional compensation through a company profit sharing plan.
